Cruise Control Should Reduce Regen

54

Now Implemented!

Description

When driving at highway speeds with the cruise control on, maintaining speed should be smoother and slower.

When cruise control is overridden (to pass someone), turned off, or the cruise speed is changed incrementally, the Model S should not be so aggressive with Regen and acceleration. A smoother shift to the desired speed is better.

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

Very little cost: when the cruise is engaged, regen profile should flip to low. When cruise control is turned off, it would wait for 2-3 seconds and/or when the accelerator pedal is depressed to return the regen to the previous user user-selected setting.

Status

Over time, this has been improved to the point (early 2014), that we’re considering this implemented.
