Audio Connectivity Using USB

66

Description

Allow phones connected via USB to play lossless music from the phone (not using Bluetooth).

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

Bluetooth is not an adequate way to listen to high-quality music files from your smartphone – a direct cable-based connection to the onboard audio system would be a better solution to listen to your music. Simultaneously the smartphone would be charged 😉

For the iPhone, it may require custom software and a license from Apple. Part of the issue is Apple’s use of DRM for some music.

I'd like to see the ability to have two connections, one for phone, and one for a music device.  That would be nice.

Agree completely. One example is when one passenger (typically a family member) wants to plug in his/her iphone to listen to music stored in the device,  with the driver being connected to the car's bluetooth. Totally doable in my old loved Chevy Volt... The other way to circumvent the problem would be for the Tesla to enable two bluetooth connections at the same time. Not possible either..

Tesla, please do it!
