Disable Speed Limiter

22

Description

Disable the factory speed limiter.

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

We do a number of sanctioned events where we can drive at max speeds (controlled/legal) and would love to see what the limits are.

Moderator: The speed limiter may be to protect the motor, which is running at about 16,000 RPM at 130 MPH. This is similar to an ICE car’s tachometer red zone where the engine is at risk of self-destruction at high RPMs.  Tesla has changed the gear ratios and/or motor design to allow up to 163 mph in some models. The new S Plaid+ has a new limit of 200 mph.

It would be nice, but with stock suspension, it might not be a good idea.

I believe that the P85D limit is now 155 MPH.  I recently red an article that, based on the aerodynamic coefficient and horsepower the P85D should be capable of 210 MPH.  Not sure how stable it would be there but I'd like to find out on a track.
