Elon has stated they are working on a robotic arm that would connect/disconnect automatically. Unclear if this would be for Superchargers or home use or if any car modifications would be necessary.

Possibly a small, flat “robot” that could stay on the garage floor under the front of the car. It could find and connect to a charge port under the front bumper (or somewhere like that) automatically when you pull into the garage. The charge port under the car would have to be sealed during not-charge times to keep crap out of it.
