Navigation without Autopilot

2

Description

Have an in-car option to allow navigation without autopilot or FSD.

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

In recent versions, Autopilot may start to slow down the car when it thinks that you are following the navigation route and want to take a turn.

The car slowing down is generally a safety-critical event… as if the car sees a pedestrian or cross-traffic.  So the car slowing down is like someone screaming “FIRE!”.  I’m suddenly looking in every direction to see where the danger is.  Then I assume it’s phantom breaking, press on the accelerator, and miss the turn.  I usually have my navigation muted.

This is especially annoying when you have to, for example, do a U-turn due to a crossing train, and it constantly slows you down as it constantly tries re-routing you back to the train.

I want the Autopilot to have simple, and predictable behavior.  I want Autopilot to only do TACC and lane centering and not stop.

I have FSD beta and navigate all the time without autopilot... don't press down twice, follow the prompts on screen.  Not sure what the OP is asking for here.  Perhaps OP is referring to return of just TACC+lane keeping when Tesla has removed that and replaced it with autopilot or FSD.
