Touch Screen Clean Mode

Description

The 17″ screen picks up a lot of fingerprints, and many of us carry a small microfiber cloth to take care of things. the problem is, many times various features will activate as the screen senses a touch. I suggest a button that simply blanks the screen and disables touch for 30 seconds (or another user-definable time). Although rebooting the screen does something similar, it’s not ideal.

Workaround 1: Use a thicker cloth, such that it doesn’t pick up your touch events. Folding over the cloth 4 times should be enough.

Workaround 2: Use our Dark Screen web app, and set full-screen to get most of the display touch inactive (except the very top and very bottom). The dark screen also makes it easier to clean.

Status

A built-in clean mode is available with version 5.0 and later software.
