Description
Implement playlists. This will reduce the need for users to place multiple copies of the same track on the USB device, which not only takes up limited space, but causes other Tesla USB tabs (songs, genre, artists, & albums) to become less useful due to them presenting duplicate tracks if they exist on the USB device.
Competitive/Pricing/Notes
Tesla has chosen to not provide CD/DVD, physical iPod/iPhone or AUX Input as music sources. For those users with extensive personal music libraries that want more control over what they listen to (I have nearly 800 CDs as part of 1300 albums in my iTunes library, with more than 40 smart/dynamically-built playlists), or that desire to play higher quality music than what compressed Bluetooth is capable of, the USB interface is the only option MS provides. Therefore, Tesla should provide as a robust capability as possible to duplicate common music library and other player capabilities today.
Other manufacturers (e.g. Lexus, BMW and MBZ) have provided much more refined USB capabilities in their luxury vehicles, as well as additional physical connection methods, for many years.
