Towing heavy objects reduces range, so having an additional battery solves the range issue.

– No motors, just emergency brakes
– Recharges when the car is charged

– Boat trailer (Yea, it would have to survive being submerged)
– My personal favorite, pop up camping trailer with standard 110 volt appliances.
– On the 650 days a year the trailer isn’t used, it plugs into a power wall system.

Batteries are heavy. Trailer weight is limited. A trailer with enough batteries to return the range to normal, would have no capacity remaining for cargo.
