Description
Use a 12-volt lithium-ion battery in place of a lead-acid battery. Lighter, longer life, safer, configurable form factor

None.
Status
Implemented in the mid-2021 Model S and X. It does add additional cost, so it may not find its way into lower-cost models.

Better a LFP (LiFePO4) than Li-Ion, safer and no change to charger.
I don’t think anyone outside of Tesla Motors should presume to know better about battery chemistry and the best uses of each.
