Description
Detect if a child or pet is in the car and keep the climate control active. The front seat detectors could be used for a partial software-only solution. A more comprehensive solution would require interior IR sensors or perhaps a CO2 detector.
Competitive/Pricing/Notes
Even though it is illegal in many places to leave a child unattended, this could save a child or pet’s life.

Moderator: There may be conditions where the car does not detect a pet or child which might open the car manufacture to major liability. For example, there is currently no way to detect a child or pet in the rear seat or trunk area. Another issue is it might activate if someone left a bag on the front seat. If left on for a long period it would drain the battery such that the car cannot be driven. Other ways around it are to limit the time and/or send a notification to the phone that the climate has automatically activated. Still, a software-only partial solution may be worthwhile even if it can’t cover every situation.
Moderator Part 2: Tesla has implemented Camp and Dog mode, and you can turn on climate remotely via the app. We are not closing this out as the request is for automatic detection, which is not available.
