Charge From a Battery in a Towed Trailer

-59

Description

Charge or power the car, while driving, from a power source in a towed trailer that connects to the charge port.

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

Currently, software locks out the ability to drive if the charge port is in use so that it is not ripped out when connected and driving off.  With a trailer-powered battery and inverter, you’d like to power and charge the vehicle while driving. Some kind of safety override would be required – perhaps with a special connector sensed by the car that allows driving while connected to the trailer.

Moderator: It still seems like there could be some serious risks.  For example, the trailer is unhitched, but the connection remains. Driving off would rip out the connection and damage the car.

" It still seems like there could be some serious risks." Yes it is, but that risk is to be asumed by the car owner/driver. The safety override like the special connector sensed by the car that allows driving while connected to the trailer needs to be doubled by an consent on the car screen, like: Are you sure you want to do that, have you verified everiothing? You understand that if you say YES this will not be covered by warranty? :)
