Offer a paid upgrade to include the Performance option to an LR AWD Model 3.

Some believe that the only real difference between the Performance Model 3 and the Long Range All Wheel Drive version is its software (besides the hardware like lowering springs, wheels, pedals, spoiler). If there are no differences in the motors, inverters, and controllers, please make the Performance software available for purchase to those wanting to upgrade.

Moderator– Tesla has stated in the past that the motor is tested and selected for the performance version of the M3. So while it is the same physical size, the performance motor is different than the standard LR3.

Status

Due to hardware changes, we’re closing this one out as impractical.  It also has little value to Tesla to develop a retrofit, if even possible.
