If you didn’t purchase the Tech Package with your older car (in the 2012-14 time period), the car will have Google maps, but no navigation features. Tesla makes available a retrofit to add Navigation to the car (but no other Tech Package features). The cost for this retrofit as of late 2016 is now $1,000 (it used to be $6,000!). Check with a service center for current pricing, which may vary by region.
