FOB Panic Button

Description

Offer a panic button on the FOB to activate the car’s security alarm in cases where there is imminent danger approaching.

Competitive/Pricing/Notes

This is usually accomplished by holding down the lock/unlock button. I don’t believe this is a current active feature, but it’s important, given the cost of these vehicles, and relatively easy target for carjackers. Activation of the alarm from the smartphone app would also be nice.

As a woman who has been both followed on the street and approached in parking garages, I think this is an excellent suggestion.

Apart from "having fun on someone elses expense" I don't see the usefulness in this feature on an app? Or perhaps it could be useful if you load the app and prepare for panicking before exiting the vehicle in a bad neighborhood? If so, a dead-man-switch could be the way to go: Hold the button in the app, and after you let it go the alarm goes off (after a couple of seconds to let you disarm it somehow).
